Kalyan: A 28-year-old intern doctor, Hanumant Dohiphude, lost his life after falling from his scooter due to potholes and pebbles on the road in Ulhasnagar on Sunday.

Dohiphude, a resident of Beed, was working at the government-run Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar. Police reported that his scooter was moving at high speed, and he was not wearing a helmet. The accident resulted in severe chest injuries, and despite being rushed to a private hospital by locals, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.

Dr. Manohar Bansode, CMO of Central Hospital, described him as a promising doctor who worked with dedication, even in the absence of his final exam certification.

The Central Police Station has registered an accidental death report, and an investigation is underway. Senior police inspector Shankar Avtade confirmed that Dohiphude is survived by his wife and six-month-old daughter. His body was sent to his native place in Beed for the last rites on Monday evening.

Local residents have expressed outrage at the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, blaming poor road conditions for the accident and demanding immediate road repairs to prevent further tragedies.
