Chennai: A dentist has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at his clinic in Pudukottai town, Tamil Nadu. According to reports and social media posts, the victim and her mother visited the dentist for dental issue of the teenager. After examining the girl, the dentist instructed her mother to purchase some medicines from a nearby pharmacy located approximately four kms away. Seizing this opportunity, it is alleged that the dentist sexually assaulted the girl while her mother was away. The girl managed to send a distress call to her mother, informing her about the incident. Upon receiving the message, the mother rushed back to the clinic and confronted the dentist. Realizing the severity of the situation, the mother of teenager immediately filed a police complaint with the all-women police station.

Following the complaint, the police conducted an investigation and subsequently arrested the dentist under relevant sections of the POCSO Act.
