New Civil Hospital to Offer Multi-Speciality Care
Palghar: Maharashtra’s Palghar district administration has announced major initiatives to strengthen healthcare services for the region’s tribal population. A district civil hospital, long in planning since the formation of the district, is expected to be fully operational within a year, offering comprehensive multi-speciality facilities, officials said.
Manor Trauma Care Centre Nears Completion
In addition, the Manor Trauma Care Centre is nearing completion and is slated to open in the coming months. The facility, located near the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway, will provide life-saving support for accident victims and emergency cases.
Efforts to Secure Funding
Palghar MP Dr. Hemant Sawra said he has been actively advocating for Central and state funds to ensure that these healthcare facilities are completed on schedule and meet the specific needs of tribal communities.
Phased Improvement of Health Services
District Health Officer Dr. Santosh Chowdhari stated that the administration is making “all-out efforts” to improve health services in a phased manner, with plans tailored specifically for the district’s tribal residents.
Promotions to Strengthen Healthcare Delivery
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Maharashtra government granted conditional promotions to 190 medical officers in the public health department. These promotions aim to strengthen healthcare delivery in tribal, remote, and Naxal-affected regions of the state.
Details of the Promotions
The 190 officers, initially in Group ‘B’ of the Maharashtra Medical and Health Services, have been elevated to Group ‘A’ positions, contingent on fulfilling required service terms. Authorities have instructed all promoted officers to assume their new roles without delay.
Focus on Remote and Tribal Areas
The promotions are specifically aimed at incentivizing service in tribal, remote, and difficult regions of Maharashtra, ensuring skilled medical personnel are available where they are needed the most.
