Nashik: In a move to streamline the registration process for private hospitals, Municipal Commissioner Manisha Khatri has decided to shift the entire procedure online starting April 1.
Currently, the process is manual and takes around five to six months for completion. Speaking to TOI, Khatri stated, “We are already working on the project, and it is in progress. The online system will ensure faster registrations.”
Key Highlights
- Nashik has over 550 private hospitals and nursing homes, all of which must renew their licenses every three years.
- The new online system aims to reduce the processing time significantly.
- A medical practitioner who runs a 20-bed hospital shared, “I had to visit multiple NMC departments to get my hospital registered, which took nearly six months. The shift to an online process is a welcome move, and I hope registrations can now be completed within a month.”
Push for a Paperless NMC
Since assuming office in December, Khatri has prioritized paperless operations at the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC).
- She stopped offline building plan approvals and made online permissions mandatory in the town planning department.
- Recently, she directed officials to implement an e-office system to enhance efficiency and transparency.
With this initiative, Nashik aims to simplify bureaucratic processes, improve efficiency, and support healthcare infrastructure growth in the city.
