Health Minister Emphasizes No Shortage of Doctors in the State
Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced that around 64 dental surgeons will be recruited soon to bolster dental healthcare services across the state. She emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring that there is no shortage of doctors in any medical category.
Government Approval and Recruitment Drive
The recruitment has been approved by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and is aimed at improving the quality and timeliness of dental care for citizens. The appointments will cover doctors, dental surgeons, and supporting staff across government hospitals in Haryana.
Infrastructure Upgrades in Hospitals
Alongside recruitment, the state government is focusing on upgrading medical infrastructure. Modern equipment and new machines are being installed to enhance healthcare delivery and ensure hospitals are better equipped to serve patients.
New Hospital in Hisar
Minister Arti Singh Rao also revealed that the Chief Minister has approved the construction of a 50-bed hospital-cum-polyclinic in Azad Nagar, Hisar. She stated that new health facilities will be built wherever there is a need, reflecting the government’s focus on accessible healthcare.
Focus on Accessible and Quality Healthcare
Speaking to Punjab Newsline, the Health Minister said, “The objective of the state government is to provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services to citizens in both rural and urban areas. All these steps reflect the government’s strong commitment towards making healthcare services more effective and people-centric.”
Vacancies in Haryana Health Department
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that vacancies across the Haryana health department remain a major concern. Out of 21,296 sanctioned positions, only 15,912 are currently filled, leaving 5,384 posts vacant in key medical and paramedical categories.
Impact on Frontline Healthcare Delivery
Vacancies include 777 medical officers, 219 senior medical officers, and 706 male multipurpose health workers, creating critical gaps in frontline healthcare services. The new recruitment drive aims to address some of these shortages, particularly in dental care.
Government’s Commitment to Healthcare
The ongoing recruitment, combined with infrastructure upgrades and new hospital projects, highlights the state government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and ensuring timely medical care for all citizens of Haryana.
