Vijayawada: An integrated AYUSH research hospital with 25 to 50 beds is set to be established in Nandigama, pending approval from the Ministry of AYUSH once the state government submits the proposal.

Union AYUSH Minister of State Prataprao Ganapatrao Jadhav confirmed this while responding to MP Kesineni Shivnath (Chinni) in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

Key Highlights:

  • The hospital will offer treatments under Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (AYUSH).
  • It will be equipped with qualified doctors and medicines from various AYUSH disciplines.
  • The proposal falls under the National AYUSH Mission (NAM).

Shivnath highlighted that over 3,000 AYUSH hospitals have been established nationwide, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to expanding alternative healthcare options.

He also noted that in 2018, the Andhra Pradesh government allocated land for a 25-bed AYUSH research hospital in Nandigama. A recent survey revealed that 60-65% of local residents prefer AYUSH treatments.

Shivnath assured that the state government will soon submit the proposal, paving the way for the hospital’s approval and construction.
