Doctor Accused of Negligence at UP Hospital
Mainpuri : In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district, a 60-year-old woman died of a heart attack at a private hospital due to alleged medical negligence. Reports claim that the on-duty doctor, Dr. Adarsh Sengar, was busy watching social media reels instead of attending to the patient. The incident occurred on Tuesday at Maharaja Tej Singh District Hospital and has sparked widespread outrage.
The deceased, identified as Pravesh Kumari, had complained of severe chest pain, prompting her son, Gurusharan Singh, to rush her to the hospital. However, instead of immediate medical attention, the doctor allegedly directed his subordinates to check the patient while he remained engaged with his phone.
CCTV Footage Captures Negligence, Sparks Protests
The entire episode was captured on CCTV, showing the woman in visible distress while nurses attended to her without much relief. As her condition worsened, panic ensued, but the doctor remained seated, glued to his phone. Moments later, the woman became unresponsive, triggering chaos.
When Dr. Sengar finally intervened, instead of helping the patient, he allegedly got into an altercation with the attendees. When the woman’s son protested, the doctor reportedly slapped him, leading to further tension inside the hospital.
As the situation spiraled, a heavy police force was deployed to control the unrest. Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) Madan Lal later arrived at the scene and assured strict action if the allegations were proven.
Authorities Launch Investigation
The CCTV footage is under review, and officials have registered a case regarding the incident. “If the allegations are true, strict departmental action will be taken against the doctor,” CMS Madan Lal stated.
A thorough investigation is underway, and further details are awaited.
