Barpeta: A tragic incident occurred at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) in Assam’s Barpeta district, where a resident doctor was found hanging in his hostel room on Wednesday, officials reported.

The deceased, identified as Bikash Bhoya, a third-semester post-graduate student hailing from Gujarat, was discovered by the hostel cook. The cook, who noticed Bhoya did not come to the dining hall in the morning, went to wake him but received no response.


Discovery of the Incident

The cook alerted other students when there was no reply from Bhoya’s room. They broke the door open and found his body hanging inside.


Investigation Underway

Police reached the scene promptly and sent the body for a postmortem examination. A police official stated, “The reason for the suicide is still unknown. We are carrying out our investigation.”

The incident has left the college community in shock, with many questioning the possible reasons behind the young doctor’s tragic death. Further details are awaited as investigations progress.
