The Undergraduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has officially confirmed that students who have studied through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) can appear for the NEET-UG examination.

Eligibility Criteria

✔️ Students must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.
✔️ They must study Biology as an additional subject from NIOS or any authorized institution.

NMC’s Clarification

📢 The public notice was issued to correct a misleading impression created by the NEET-UG Bulletin 2025, which was released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and did not align with NMC regulations.
📌 The clarification also comes in response to an RTI query from an applicant studying through NIOS, State Open Schools, and the Private Candidate category.

This announcement ensures that open schooling students aspiring to pursue medical education will not face any restrictions in appearing for NEET-UG, provided they meet the specified criteria.
