New Delhi: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025, originally scheduled for June 15, 2025, has been postponed by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The revised dates will be announced after receiving approval from the Supreme Court of India.
The postponement follows the Supreme Court’s directive that NEET PG 2025 must be conducted in a single shift to ensure fairness and transparency among candidates. The court noted that conducting the exam in two shifts could lead to discrepancies in question paper difficulty and an uneven playing field.
The NBE stated in an official notification:
“NEET-PG 2025 scheduled to be held on 15.06.2025 has been postponed to arrange for more Test Centres and required infrastructure. The revised date for conduct of NEET-PG 2025 shall be notified shortly.”
The Supreme Court bench, comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta, and NK Anjaria, allowed the NBE to delay the exam beyond June 15 if adequate arrangements could not be made in time.
Medical aspirants have been awaiting clarity on the exam schedule amid rumors and speculation following the court’s verdict. The NBE has assured that the exam will be held with full transparency and secure centers once arrangements are complete and court approval is obtained.
