New Delhi: The Ministry of Ayush has launched a film series titled “Ayush for All: Holistic Health Care through National Ayush Mission” to showcase the significant progress and transformative impact of the National Ayush Mission (NAM). The series was unveiled by Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (IC), Ministry of Ayush, and Union Minister of State, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. This launch aligns with the Ministry’s efforts to provide equitable, affordable, and holistic healthcare to citizens, especially in remote areas of India.
The National Ayush Mission is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme aimed at strengthening Ayush healthcare services, promoting preventive care through Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and integrating Ayush systems into mainstream public health. It also focuses on improving the quality of Ayush education and research. Under NAM, 167 Integrated Ayush Hospitals have been established, and 416 Ayush Hospitals along with 5036 dispensaries have been upgraded. Additionally, over 2300 Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Community Health Centres (CHCs), and District Hospitals (DHs) have benefitted annually through co-location initiatives.
Key achievements of NAM include:
- Providing essential Ayush medicines to 996 hospitals and 12,405 dispensaries.
- Establishing 3883 Yoga Wellness Centres and 1055 Ayush Grams.
- Supporting 16 new Ayush educational institutions and upgrading 112 others.
- Setting up 12,500 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to promote holistic wellness.
The film series aims to raise public awareness about the impact of these initiatives, with a focus on real-life transformation stories. The Minister emphasized that NAM has empowered communities by providing accessible, cost-effective healthcare based on traditional practices.
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, highlighted that NAM’s initiatives are transforming public health by promoting medical pluralism and improving access to preventive and promotive care across India.
Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, mentioned that the series would be available on the Ministry’s official YouTube channel, making it easily accessible to citizens nationwide. This digital outreach effort is part of the Ministry’s commitment to promoting the benefits of the Ayush system.
Through NAM, the Ministry continues to revolutionize healthcare delivery in underserved regions, bridging gaps and promoting a holistic wellness model that contributes to a healthier, more sustainable India.
