Bhiwani: A medical officer posted at the District Jail, Bhiwani, reportedly faced verbal abuse and derogatory language from the Jail Superintendent while on duty. The doctor, previously serving at Sub-Divisional Hospital, Siwani, has been deputed at the jail by the health department for the past year.

Incident on September 12

The controversy arose when the doctor alleged that on September 12, 2025, the Jail Superintendent verbally abused him during his duty. The offensive language used by the Superintendent reportedly caused mental distress and insulted the officer while performing his professional responsibilities.

Complaint Submitted to Court

Following the incident, the Civil Surgeon filed a formal complaint with the District & Sessions Court, Bhiwani, seeking action to ensure that doctors and health staff can perform their duties in the jail without fear or mental harassment. The complaint highlighted the negative impact of such behavior on medical staff morale.

Pattern of Misbehavior Noted

The complaint also noted that this was not the first incident of its kind. A similar episode had occurred previously involving another medical officer at the District Jail, indicating a recurring issue of harassment by the jail administration toward deputed health personnel.

Request for Smooth Functioning of Health Services

The Civil Surgeon requested that necessary action be taken to protect medical officers and staff, ensuring that health-related duties in the District Jail can continue smoothly. The complaint emphasized the need for a work environment free from stress and harassment to maintain quality healthcare services for inmates.
