District Administration Pushes for Timely Expansion of Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic Services
The district administration in Mainpuri has directed officials to ensure the quality-driven and time-bound expansion of AYUSH healthcare services across the district. As part of the initiative, proposals have been submitted for the construction of 23 Ayurvedic hospitals and 9 Homoeopathic hospitals aimed at improving healthcare accessibility in both rural and urban areas.
The directions were issued during a meeting of the District AYUSH Committee held at the Collectorate, where District Magistrate Dr. Indramani Tripathi stressed that AYUSH services must reach the public efficiently without compromising quality standards or implementation timelines.
Focus on Healthcare Infrastructure and Service Delivery
During the meeting, the District Magistrate instructed all concerned departments to strictly follow prescribed quality benchmarks while executing healthcare projects. He emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth and timely completion of all proposed initiatives.
Officials from the Ayurveda and Homoeopathy departments have been asked to prepare and submit tehsil-wise and village-wise lists of available land for the proposed healthcare facilities. The administration has also prioritised pending land proposals in Saman and Lekhrajpur, where delays have reportedly slowed down development work.
The District Land Acquisition Officer was directed to complete all required documentation within a fixed timeline and ensure that identified land parcels are formally transferred to the AYUSH department without further delay.
Existing AYUSH Facilities in Mainpuri
Currently, the district operates 23 government-run Ayurvedic healthcare centres. Among them:
- 16 centres have a four-bed capacity
- 6 centres function as outpatient-based facilities
- 1 Ayurvedic hospital operates with a 25-bed capacity
These centres collectively cater to a large number of patients seeking alternative and traditional healthcare services.
AYUSH Awareness and Wellness Programmes Expanded
The meeting also reviewed ongoing awareness initiatives promoting AYUSH systems and preventive healthcare practices. Officials informed that five Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in the district have already been upgraded to improve healthcare delivery.
Additionally, wellness centres across the district are conducting awareness programmes where trained yoga instructors educate residents about healthy lifestyle practices, preventive healthcare, and the benefits of traditional medicine systems.
Senior officials from the AYUSH and Homoeopathy departments attended the meeting and reviewed measures aimed at strengthening healthcare outreach and improving service delivery across the district.
