Tragic Discovery
A 21-year-old nurse was found dead inside a bathroom at a private hospital in Kanpur’s Lajpat Nagar on Sunday. Police are treating the case as a suspected suicide. The deceased, originally from Siwan district in Bihar, had been employed at the hospital for just one month and was residing in Rawatpur with a family acquaintance for the past six years.
Circumstances of Death
The nurse was on duty Saturday night but went missing the following morning during the change of shifts. Her colleagues began searching for her, eventually discovering her in a locked private bathroom on the hospital’s third floor. After breaking the door, they found her unresponsive on the floor.
Preliminary Findings
Police recovered injections and medicines at the scene. Preliminary reports suggest death by poisoning, although a formal cause will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem, and Kanpur police are conducting a detailed investigation. The hospital authorities have not yet provided an official statement regarding the incident.
