Panchkula – The Haryana health department has launched Helpline 104, a toll-free service that allows patients to book doctor’s appointments at government hospitals from their homes.
Key Features of Helpline 104
- Appointment Booking: Patients can schedule consultations in advance to avoid long queues.
- Healthcare Complaints: Users can report issues related to health services, with a promise of resolution within five days.
- Medicine Availability Information: The helpline will inform patients about the stock of medicines in government hospitals.
- E-Telemedicine Services: Patients, especially in remote areas, can use virtual consultations with doctors.
Statewide Implementation
The initiative was launched in Panchkula by Haryana’s health and medical education minister, Arti Singh Rao. The event was attended by Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) from across Haryana via video conferencing, reinforcing the statewide reach of this facility.
The state’s existing e-telemedicine services will also be integrated with Helpline 104, ensuring a smooth connection between online consultations and in-person visits.
