Agartala: A young woman died while undergoing treatment at GB Pant Hospital in Agartala, with her family alleging that a delay in shifting her to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) contributed to the deterioration of her condition.
According to news reports, the deceased was a resident of Gandhigram, while her in-laws’ home is located in the Tepania area of Udaipur. Her family said she was initially admitted to a hospital in Udaipur after developing fever. Her condition subsequently deteriorated after she developed respiratory complications.
Patient Shifted to GB Pant Hospital for Further Treatment
Seeking better medical care, the family subsequently shifted the woman to GB Pant Hospital in Agartala, one of Tripura’s major government healthcare facilities.
However, she died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Following her death, her husband reportedly broke down in tears. Family members alleged that her deteriorating condition required timely intervention and claimed that she might have survived had she been shifted to the ICU at the appropriate time.

The family alleged that despite the patient’s worsening condition, the attending doctor did not shift her to the ICU in time.
