Mon : A new Dialysis Unit at the District Hospital in Mon was inaugurated on May 15 by Mon Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak. The unit was funded by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) under its corporate social responsibility initiative.


Facility Equipped with Four Machines and Skilled Staff

Speaking at the event, Dr. Aman Konyak, Medical Superintendent of DH Mon, stated that the dialysis unit will operate with three beds and four dialysis machines, manned by a surgeon, qualified nurses, and a technician. He acknowledged the efforts of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Nagaland, and thanked IOC for their contribution.


DC Highlights Benefits for Local Patients

DC Wennyei Konyak emphasized that the facility will drastically reduce the need for patients to travel to Dimapur for dialysis, noting the high incidence of chronic kidney disease in the region. He assured full support for the unit’s continued operations and urged the staff to fully utilize the new facility for the welfare of the public.


Community, Officials Attend Inauguration

The inauguration programme also featured a dedication prayer by Chaplain YP David Konyak. The event was attended by officials from Konyak Union (KU), Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK), Superintendent of Police (SP), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and hospital staff.
