Bengaluru: In a strong push towards making Karnataka a global leader in healthcare, the SPARSH Group of Hospitals inaugurated its state-of-the-art 300-bed quaternary care facility at Hennur Road, Bengaluru. The move is seen as a significant boost to the state’s ambition of becoming a top destination for medical tourism.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister for Medical Education, said Bengaluru’s advanced technology ecosystem, coupled with India’s globally respected medical expertise, positions the city to be a global hub for healthcare innovation and international patient care.

The hospital was officially inaugurated by Karnataka’s Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, in the presence of dignitaries including Jagadguru Shri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswami of Suttur Math, former CM Basavaraj Bommai, Justice Shivaraj V Patil, and other senior ministers and legislators.
Tech-Driven, Patient-Centric Healthcare
The SPARSH Hennur facility will offer cutting-edge services in orthopedics, neurosciences, cardiac sciences, oncology, organ transplantation, and women and child health. The hospital integrates robotic-assisted surgery, AI diagnostics, 3D printing, and real-time analytics for enhanced clinical outcomes.
Dr. Sharan Shivaraj Patil, Chairman of SPARSH Group, shared that the inspiration behind this expansion came from his personal experience during his father’s cancer treatment amid the pandemic. “This hospital is our first dedicated step into cancer care. We aim to deliver world-class treatment with compassion and accessibility,” he said.
Boost to Jobs and Research
Beyond clinical care, the hospital is expected to generate over 2,500 direct and indirect jobs and serve as a center for academic medicine and clinical innovation.
Karnataka’s Expanding Healthcare Vision
Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao highlighted the state’s focus on not just increasing hospital numbers, but also enhancing the quality of care. “Technologies like AI and robotics are now becoming accessible beyond metros and private hospitals, strengthening public healthcare as well,” he noted.
With Karnataka now leading the country in the number of medical seats and ongoing investments in super-specialty hospitals, the SPARSH Hennur facility is set to play a key role in achieving the state’s goal of a $1 trillion economy by 2030 and a $5 trillion economy by 2047.
The launch also aligns with SPARSH Group’s broader expansion plan to operate nine hospitals with 1,700+ beds by 2025.
