Ferozepur | A 44-year-old BAMS doctor was shot and injured by three unidentified men at his clinic on Malwal Road in Ferozepur late Wednesday night. The doctor, who sustained bullet wounds, was rushed to a nearby private hospital and is reported to be in stable condition, according to the police.
The incident occurred when three unidentified individuals entered the doctor’s clinic and an argument reportedly broke out. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sukhwinder Singh told Hindustan Times that the reason behind the altercation is still under investigation. During the scuffle, one of the attackers opened fire, injuring the doctor before all three fled the scene.
Locals immediately took the injured doctor to the hospital. Medical staff have confirmed that although he suffered gunshot wounds, his condition is not critical.
Police said a case will be registered based on the doctor’s statement, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest the culprits.
This incident follows a similar attack in Gaya district, Bihar, where a retired health department doctor was shot three times by masked men. He too is recovering after emergency treatment.
