A 25-year-old Ayurveda medical intern tragically lost his life in a late-night road accident on the Bahadrabad–Delhi highway in Haridwar, raising concerns over road safety and reckless driving in the region.

Intern Dies on the Spot After High-Speed Collision

According to police officials, the victim, a resident of Bettiah, was on his way to report for duty at the Bahadrabad Community Health Centre (CHC) on Wednesday night. He was undergoing a six-month internship as part of his Ayurveda medical training.

As he approached the highway on his scooty, a speeding unidentified vehicle rammed into the two-wheeler with significant force. The impact severely damaged the front portion of the scooty and left the intern critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.

Female Intern Escapes with Minor Injuries

A female intern accompanying him at the time of the accident fell off the scooter due to the impact but survived with minor injuries. Though physically stable, she was left deeply shaken by the incident.

Driver Flees, Police Launch Search Operation

The driver of the offending vehicle fled the scene immediately after the crash. Authorities have launched a search operation to identify and apprehend the accused. Initial reports suggest that the vehicle was moving at high speed at the time of the collision.

Internship at Bahadrabad CHC, College Informed

Dr. Aarti Singh, In-Charge of the Bahadrabad CHC, confirmed that the deceased was pursuing his BAMS degree from a university in Roorkee and had been posted at the centre for practical training. She stated that the incident has been reported to the college administration, and strict action has been sought against the driver.

FIR Registered, Body Handed Over to Family

Bahadrabad SHO Amarjeet Singh informed that an FIR is being registered in connection with the incident. After conducting a postmortem, the body has been handed over to the victim’s family.

Rising Concerns Over Road Safety

This tragic incident adds to a growing number of fatal road accidents involving healthcare professionals across India, highlighting the urgent need for stricter traffic enforcement and improved road safety measures.
