A critically injured man was allegedly denied timely medical treatment at Sribhumi Civil Hospital in Assam, triggering widespread outrage after a video of the incident went viral on social media and raised serious questions about emergency healthcare services in government hospitals.

Injured in Scooter Accident
The victim reportedly suffered severe injuries in a scooter accident near AOC Point. His relatives said he was rushed to Sribhumi Civil Hospital in a critical condition, hoping for immediate medical attention.

Relatives Allege Negligence by Staff
Speaking to The Sentinel, family members alleged that despite repeated pleas, the medical staff on duty showed no urgency in attending to the patient. They claimed the delay worsened the condition of the injured man.

Doctor Accused of Misbehaviour
Relatives further alleged that a doctor present at the hospital misbehaved with the patient’s attendants, adding to their distress. They said the conduct of the staff and the doctor was captured on camera by people present at the hospital.

Viral Video Fuels Public Anger
The video, which has since gone viral, reportedly shows the hospital staff’s conduct during the incident. Witnesses alleged that a doctor behaved inappropriately with the family members who had accompanied the injured man, further fuelling public anger.

Patient Shifted to Silchar Medical College
Following the incident and mounting controversy, the patient was later transferred to Silchar Medical College Hospital. Hospital sources said he is currently undergoing treatment there.

The episode has reignited a wider debate on the quality of emergency medical care in government-run hospitals, particularly the availability of trained staff and responsiveness during late hours.
