Police Trace Her After Parents File Missing Complaint

Coimbatore: A 27-year-old lady doctor, suffering from severe depression, attempted suicide at a private hostel in the city on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

Police Investigation Leads to Rescue

The Race Course police launched an investigation after receiving a missing person complaint from her parents, Rajasekar and Lalitha, residents of Krishna Colony near Singanallur. They reported that their daughter, who worked at a private hospital on Avarampalayam Road, had not returned home after work on Friday night.

Investigators discovered that she had resigned from her job on Friday morning and left the hospital premises around 11:45 AM. Using CCTV footage and mobile network tracking, police traced her to a private hostel near the hospital.

Found Unconscious After Consuming Poison

Upon reaching the hostel at midnight, officers found the doctor vomiting. She admitted to having consumed poison in an attempt to end her life. Police rushed her to Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital, where she is currently in a stable condition.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
