New Delhi – The Ministry of Ayush commemorated World Homoeopathy Day 2026 on 10 April with a grand national event at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The celebration, centred on the theme “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health,” marked the 271st birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homoeopathy.
Event Highlights and Leadership
The event was inaugurated by Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush. In his address, he emphasized that India has developed a robust homoeopathy ecosystem, supported by over 3.45 lakh registered practitioners and nearly 300 educational institutions. He highlighted the sector’s shift toward evidence-based expansion and interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance global credibility.
Focus on Sustainability and Research
The 2026 theme, “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health,” aligns with global priorities like Universal Health Coverage and UN Sustainable Development Goal 3. A two-day interactive forum (10–11 April) brought together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to deliberate on the role of homoeopathy in building resilient and eco-friendly healthcare systems.
Key Initiatives and Publications Launched
Several landmark resources were unveiled during the ceremony:
- Scientific Publications: Released titles included “ Scientific Perspectives of Homoeopathic Medicines: A Practitioner’s Guide ” and a monograph on Acorus calamus.
- Digital Integration: The Ministry launched a certification course on the Ayush Grid portal and introduced AI-enabled knowledge tools for broader dissemination.
- Institutional Support: The Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) introduced its revamped newsletter and official new logo.
Public Health and Awareness
The celebration extended beyond the main venue through Homoeopathic Awareness Week (1–7 April), featuring nationwide health camps, free check-ups for seasonal disorders, and community outreach focused on women’s and children’s health.
