Shocking Allegations Surface Against Private Hospital Staff
Jaipur: In a deeply disturbing case, two doctors at a private hospital in Rajasthan’s Salumbar district have been booked for allegedly raping a domestic help and pressuring her to convert her religion, the police confirmed on Thursday.
Victim Alleges Coercion and Threats
According to the complaint filed by the survivor, who worked as a domestic help for one of the accused, she was allegedly forced to wear a burqa and pressured to convert to Islam. She further claimed that the accused, along with another doctor, threatened to leak her personal photos and videos to silence her, reports PTI.
Police Register Case, Begin Investigation
Additional Superintendent of Police (Salumbar) Banwari Lal said that a case was registered on Wednesday following the woman’s detailed complaint. “The investigation is currently underway,” he confirmed.
Hospital Management Allegedly Ignored Plea for Help
The woman also alleged that she approached the hospital management to report the abuse, but no action was taken. She named another doctor, allegedly involved with Dr Amir, as a co-accused in the crime.
Digital Evidence Being Collected
Police have begun collecting digital evidence, including CCTV footage from the hospital and call records of the accused. Officials said the case is being handled with priority, and further action will depend on forensic and electronic findings.
Accused Under Police Scanner
Both doctors named in the FIR are currently under investigation and may face arrest depending on the evidence gathered. Authorities said all necessary legal and procedural steps are being taken to ensure a fair probe.
Background: Pattern of Abuse in Medical Institutions
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported a similar incident in Korba, where a senior Ayurvedic doctor posted at the AYUSH wing of the District Medical College Hospital was accused of molesting a trainee doctor under the pretext of examination. The police registered a case in that matter as well, and investigations are ongoing.
Police Assure Strict Action
Officials in Salumbar assured that the accused will be held accountable if found guilty. The case has sparked public outrage, raising fresh concerns about workplace safety and accountability within private healthcare institutions.
