Police investigate the circumstances leading to the tragic incident
Coimbatore: A 20-year-old trainee nurse working at a private hospital on the Sungam-Ukkadam bypass road tragically ended her life by jumping off the hospital’s third floor on Friday night. The young woman, identified as Dhanya, succumbed to her injuries in the early hours of Saturday while undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
Dhanya, the daughter of Santhoshkumar from Kattumannarkovil in Cuddalore district, was working as a trainee nurse at the hospital located in Pari Nagar. According to the Ramanathapuram police, the incident occurred late on Friday when Dhanya went to the hospital’s third floor and jumped off.
Police Investigation Underway
“She sustained severe head injuries and was battling for life. She was rushed to the CMCH, but unfortunately, she did not survive,” a police officer reported.
The police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are working to determine the factors that may have led Dhanya to take such a drastic step.
Family Receives the Body
Following a postmortem examination, Dhanya’s body was handed over to her grieving family on Saturday afternoon.
