Surprise Inspection Reveals Early Departures, Disciplinary Action Threatened
Rohtak: The Director of Pt BD Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Dr SK Singhal, has issued a stern warning to doctors and medical staff following a surprise inspection that revealed several doctors leaving their shifts early.
After receiving complaints about early departures, Dr. Singhal conducted an unannounced inspection across various hospital wards and departments, including Ophthalmology, ENT, PCCM, the Orthopaedic Workshop, Physiotherapy, and the Sports Injury Centre. The inspection, held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, also covered Wards 2, 3, 14, 15, and 16, with several senior officials in attendance.
Strict Disciplinary Action for Rule Violations
Taking a firm stance, Dr. Singhal warned that disciplinary action would be taken against any doctor or employee found neglecting duty. He emphasized that junior doctors must remain on duty for the full shift, just like their department heads.
“Maintaining discipline is crucial to ensuring superior patient care. All employees must arrive on time and complete their shifts. Our primary goal is to serve patients with full dedication,” Dr. Singhal said.
Ongoing Surprise Inspections Planned
To reinforce adherence to duty hours, more surprise inspections will be conducted across hospital wards and outpatient departments (OPDs) in the coming weeks. The administration is determined to uphold discipline and improve healthcare services at PGIMS Rohtak.
