Jhunjhunu: In a shocking incident from Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, a 25-year-old deaf and mute man, declared dead by medical professionals, began breathing just before his cremation. This startling occurrence has led to the suspension of three doctors involved in the case.

The individual, identified as Rohitash Kumar, lived in a shelter home and had no known family. On November 21, his health deteriorated, and he was rushed to the emergency room at BDK Hospital in Jhunjhunu.

At 2 PM, doctors declared Kumar dead after he reportedly failed to respond to treatment. Following this, a ‘panchnama’ (official death report) was prepared by the police. The body was placed in the mortuary and later taken to the cremation site.

However, just as the body was being placed on the pyre, Kumar unexpectedly began breathing. He was immediately rushed back to the hospital, where he is now stable and receiving care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Responding to the incident, Jhunjhunu District Collector Ramavtar Meena suspended Primary Medical Officer Dr. Sandeep Pachar, along with Dr. Yogesh Jakhar and Dr. Navneet Meel.

“A committee has been established to investigate the matter, and the secretary of the medical department has been informed,” Meena confirmed.

This incident has raised serious concerns about medical negligence and the protocols followed during the declaration of death.
