New facility unifies diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare to offer holistic cancer services under one roof
New Delhi – In a landmark development for cancer treatment in the national capital, President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday inaugurated a state-of-the-art Comprehensive Cancer Care Centre at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH), reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to providing accessible and compassionate healthcare.
During her visit, President Murmu interacted with patients and lauded the hospital’s decades-long dedication to ethical, affordable, and patient-centric medical care. She also unveiled a commemorative plaque and toured the new facility.
The newly launched centre integrates medical, surgical, and radiation oncology services, along with day-care chemotherapy, into a single, streamlined unit. It is equipped with cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic technologies to provide personalised, multidisciplinary treatment for all types of cancer.
“This centre is not just a structural milestone — it is a dream realised,” said Dr. D S Rana, chairman of the Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society. “It marks a new chapter in our mission to serve wider communities and to one day establish SGRH Medical College.”
Highlighting the sustainable, charity-driven model of the hospital, Dr. Rana noted that the institution has been managed for 50 years by a dedicated Board of 25 eminent doctors.
Dr. Ajay Swaroop, chairman of the Board of Management, added, “This centre fulfils the vision of our founders. We are now a total healthcare provider offering advanced diagnosis, therapy, and follow-up for cancer patients.”
Founded in 1954, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is one of Delhi’s most trusted medical institutions. The hospital reiterated that the new centre aligns with its mission to combine cutting-edge medical science with empathy, humility, and community service.
