New Delhi, January 7, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute in Rohini, Delhi, marking a significant step in advancing Ayurveda and traditional medicine in India.


New Facility to Advance Ayurveda

The institute, spanning 2.92 acres, is being built with an investment of ₹187 crore. It will feature a 100-bed hospital dedicated to research and healthcare services, boosting the integration of traditional medicine in modern healthcare.


Vision for “Heal in India”

PM Modi highlighted India’s potential to become the health and wellness capital of the world. He emphasized the mantra “Heal in India,” aligning it with the success of the “Make in India” initiative.


Global Recognition of Ayurveda

The prime minister also noted India’s growing influence in traditional medicine, with the establishment of the first WHO Traditional Medicine Centre in the country and AYUSH’s presence in over 100 nations.


AYUSH Visa for Foreign Nationals

A dedicated AYUSH visa facility has been introduced, making it easier for foreign nationals to access traditional treatments in India. This initiative has already benefitted hundreds of global patients.
