Punjab Doctor Linked to Suspects Under Scrutiny
Pathankot: A 45-year-old surgeon from a private medical college in Pathankot has been detained for questioning in connection with the Red Fort blast case, police sources said on Saturday. The doctor has been working at the institution for over two years.
Earlier Association with Al Falah University
According to officials, the surgeon had previously worked at Al Falah University in Faridabad — the institution linked to several key suspects in the “white-collar terror module” under investigation. Two doctors from Haryana’s Nuh district with ties to the same university were detained a day earlier.
Doctors from Nuh Also Questioned
Police sources revealed that one of the Nuh-based doctors had completed his apprenticeship at Al Falah University earlier this month, while another — a former student — is currently employed at a private hospital in Nuh. Both are being questioned regarding possible links to the accused.
Death Toll in Blast Rises to 13
The death toll from the car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort climbed to 13 after another victim with severe burn injuries succumbed on Thursday. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), heading the probe, has uncovered a connection between the main accused doctor and a Turkiye-based handler, codenamed “Ukasa.”
White-Collar Terror Module Busted
On Monday, investigative agencies dismantled a terror network spread across Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, seizing 2,900 kg of explosive material. Eight individuals, including three doctors associated with Al Falah University, were arrested. Hours later, the deadly explosion occurred near the Red Fort metro station.
DNA Confirms Identity of Accused Driver
A DNA test confirmed that the assistant professor from the university — also an accused in the module — was driving the car that exploded, killing 13 people and injuring several others.
Encrypted Messaging App Under Probe
Sources said investigators have traced the suspects’ communications to a Switzerland-based encrypted messaging app that was allegedly used to coordinate the terror conspiracy. Several more individuals have been detained for questioning as the investigation widens.
