NMC Sets 30 May Deadline for Annual Disclosure Submission by Medical Colleges

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has directed all existing medical colleges and institutes holding a valid Letter of Permission (LoP) for MBBS courses to submit their Annual Disclosure Report on the NMC portal for the academic year 2026-27.

The submission is mandatory under Regulation 4 of the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023 (MSMER 2023), and is essential for processing applications related to the annual renewal of MBBS seats.

In a public notice issued on May 13, 2026, the Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) clarified that all NMC-approved medical colleges must complete the submission process before the deadline of May 30, 2026. The Commission has also clearly stated that no extension will be granted beyond the specified date.

Annual Disclosure Mandatory for MBBS Seat Renewal

According to the notice issued by the UGMEB, submission of the Annual Disclosure Report is compulsory for all existing medical colleges seeking permission for continuation and renewal of undergraduate MBBS seats for the 2026-27 academic session.

The Board stated that the disclosure must be submitted through the official NMC portal along with the prescribed application fee and supporting information.

Colleges Without AEBAS Registration Cannot Access Portal

The NMC informed that medical colleges and institutes that have not registered their Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) with the Commission will not be able to access the portal for submission.

The Commission added that login credentials, including usernames and passwords, have already been shared with the nodal officers of respective colleges.

To assist institutions during the process, the UGMEB has also uploaded a detailed user manual on the portal containing step-by-step instructions for submitting the disclosure report.

NMC Warns Against Data Discrepancies

The Commission has instructed medical colleges to ensure that all information uploaded on the portal is accurate and consistent across different NMC Boards.

The notice warned that once the application is submitted, no editing or modification of information will be permitted. The NMC also stated that the submitted data may be made public at any time if deemed necessary.

Application Fee Fixed at Rs 3.54 Lakh Including GST

The NMC has fixed the application fee for annual renewal at Rs 3,54,000, inclusive of 18 percent GST. The fee must be paid online through the payment gateway available on the NMC portal.

The Commission clarified that no other mode of payment will be accepted for processing applications related to undergraduate medical seat renewals for the academic year 2026-27.

NMC Issues Urgent Compliance Direction to Medical Colleges

Following the public notice, the National Medical Commission also issued a separate communication to Directors, Principals, and Deans of all medical colleges and institutions under its jurisdiction.

The letter, signed by NMC Secretary Dr. Raghav Langer, directed all institutions to comply with the instructions issued by the UGMEB and ensure submission of the Annual Disclosure Report before the deadline.

The Commission described the matter as “most urgent and important” and reiterated that colleges must strictly adhere to all guidelines and timelines mentioned in the notice.
