Manipal Hospitals has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to establish a 350-bed state-of-the-art multi-speciality hospital in Nagpur. The project, involving an investment of nearly ₹700 crore, is expected to generate around 3,000 jobs and significantly boost healthcare access in the region.

The MoU was signed in Mumbai, with the state government assuring support in terms of permits, approvals, and fiscal incentives to ensure timely execution of the project. The hospital is expected to be operational by 2029 and will provide advanced medical care to residents of Nagpur and nearby areas.

Dilip Jose, Managing Director and CEO of Manipal Hospitals, said, “This strategic expansion aligns with Manipal Hospitals’ vision to make advanced medical care accessible to all. The new facility in Nagpur will bring high-quality, multidisciplinary healthcare closer to communities that need it most, reinforcing our commitment to equitable and impactful care across Maharashtra.”

The upcoming hospital will feature specialized departments in cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology, and more, making it a landmark healthcare development for central India.

This expansion comes on the heels of Manipal Health Enterprises’ major acquisition move, where it recently bought Sahyadri Hospitals from Canada’s Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP) for ₹6,400 crore, strengthening its position as India’s second-largest hospital chain.
