Vijayawada : Junior doctors at Siddhartha Government Medical College have filed a complaint with the college administration, accusing a few senior students and interns of ragging and abusive behavior in the hostel premises.

According to the complainants, the seniors allegedly used abusive language and ill-treated them over the past few days. Following the allegations, college principal Dr. P. Ashok Kumar confirmed that an inquiry has been ordered and a committee has been formed to investigate the matter.

“We have summoned the parents of the senior students involved in the alleged ragging and handed over seven students to them. Counselling was also provided to the seniors residing in the hostel,” said Dr. Ashok Kumar.

The principal also held a meeting with the Anti-Ragging Committee, faculty members, and students, and has instructed that vigilance be stepped up on campus and inside hostels to ensure such incidents do not recur. A detailed probe is currently underway.
