Viral Clip from Mauranipur CHC Draws Widespread Criticism
Jhansi: A government doctor at a Community Health Center (CHC) in Mauranipur has come under fire after a viral video showed him lying on a patient’s bed while writing a prescription, instead of engaging with the patient directly.
In the shocking footage, the doctor is seen reclining on the bed, facing away from an elderly woman patient who is describing her health issues. Without sitting up or making eye contact, he listens, nods, and writes a prescription.
The video, recorded by a bystander, quickly gained traction on social media, with many users calling out the doctor’s lack of professionalism. An X (formerly Twitter) user who posted the video tagged Uttar Pradesh’s National Health Mission, Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging action against the doctor.
Public Backlash & Official Response
The incident has triggered widespread outrage, with social media users questioning the quality of healthcare services at government-run health centers. Authorities have not yet issued a formal response, but updates on the matter are awaited.
This comes amid a series of recent controversies in public healthcare institutions, including a reported altercation at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, where a resident doctor and a male nurse were involved in a physical fight, an incident also caught on CCTV and widely shared online.
The viral Mauranipur CHC video has once again raised concerns over discipline and patient care standards in government hospitals.
