New Delhi:  Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, has called on the National Medical Commission (NMC) to increase the number of medical seats by 75,000 by the year 2029. He made this announcement during the 4th-anniversary celebration of the NMC. During his speech, JP Nadda congratulated the NMC for its achievements over the past four years, including the addition of 25,000 undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) seats. He also noted that the NMC had reached its goal of 100,000 MBBS seats a year ahead of schedule.

Nadda encouraged the NMC to meet the target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which aims to add 75,000 more medical seats in the next five years to accommodate the growing number of aspiring medical professionals.
