Rohtak: The Haryana State Women Commission has taken cognisance of the abduction of a female dental student by the resident doctor of PGIMS, Rohtak and has written a letter to the National Medical Council (NMC) recommending the cancellation of registration of the resident doctor. The female dental student has lodged a complaint with the local police station in which she has charged the resident doctor of abducting her and beating her. In the complaint she has alleged that the resident doctor took her to Ambala and Chandigarh without her consent. He wanted to marry her and on being denying by her she was beaten by the resident doctor. A video purportedly showing the wounds of the dental student has surfaced in social media.

Meanwhile the Haryana State Women Commission has said that as soon as the incident came into light the chairperson of the commission visited the office of the Director, PGIMS. Also the Rohtak SP has been asked by the commission to send the entire report of the incident within a week. The commission has also recommended the cancellation of registration in the medical council of the accused resident doctor for his misdeeds with a junior female student.
