Gwalior : A 30-year-old woman has accused a local doctor of molestation under the pretext of a medical check-up in Gwalior’s Nitin Nagar area. The accused, Dr. Ramashankar Sharma, was arrested shortly after the woman filed a complaint at Thatipur police station.
According to the complaint, the woman — a resident of Hurawali — had been receiving treatment for fever and headaches at Sharma’s clinic. On Tuesday evening, she visited the clinic with her brother-in-law. After prescribing medication, the doctor allegedly sent the brother-in-law to a pharmacy and asked the woman to remain for a blood pressure check.
During the examination, the woman alleges that Sharma inappropriately touched her under the guise of using a stethoscope. When she objected, he dismissed her concerns as part of the procedure.
Distressed, she informed her husband upon returning home, and the couple approached the police. Acting swiftly, Thatipur police registered a case and arrested the doctor before he could flee.
Local residents allege that Sharma is a quack, though official verification of his credentials is pending. Investigations are ongoing to determine the legitimacy of his practice and any prior complaints.
