Parents Accuse Hospital of Operating on Wrong Eye of Seven-Year-Old, Demand Doctor’s License Cancellation

Noida: A hospital in Greater Noida has come under scrutiny after a seven-year-old boy’s parents alleged that doctors performed surgery on the wrong eye and charged Rs 45,000 for the procedure. The incident reportedly occurred at Anand Spectrum Hospital in Sector Gamma 1 on November 12, when the boy, Yudhishthir, was taken for treatment due to persistent watering in his left eye.

Doctors initially diagnosed a foreign object in the boy’s left eye and recommended immediate surgery. However, after returning home, the parents discovered that the surgery had been performed on the right eye instead. Seeking clarification, they visited another eye hospital, which confirmed no procedure had been done on the left eye.

Claiming fraud, the parents filed a complaint with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Gautam Buddha Nagar, demanding the cancellation of the doctor’s license and the closure of the hospital. No FIR has been registered so far, but the incident has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about medical accountability.
