New Delhi: A fire erupted on the upper floors of BM Gupta Hospital, a nursing home located in Uttam Nagar, on Tuesday evening, triggering panic but causing no injuries or fatalities. The blaze was brought under control after a swift response from emergency services.


Blaze Originated in Nurses’ Hostel

According to the Delhi Fire Services, the fire broke out around 8:00 pm on the second floor, specifically in the nurses’ hostel, which accommodated six nurses. It quickly spread to part of the third floor, which houses the hospital’s medical records section.

The multi-storey hospital includes a ground-floor chemist shop, a first-floor OPD and office area, with the second and third floors serving residential and administrative functions.


Patients and Staff Evacuated Safely

At the time of the incident, approximately 15 to 20 patients and 20 staff members were present in the facility. All individuals were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The fire was fully brought under control by 9:25 pm with the help of 11 fire tenders.


Investigation Underway

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Preliminary reports do not suggest any foul play, but further details are awaited.
