Thane: Two doctors from a civic-run hospital in Thane district have been booked for criminal negligence following the death of a 26-year-old pregnant woman during a delivery procedure, police said on Monday.
The woman was admitted to a hospital run by the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation on February 11 and died during the procedure conducted by two doctors on February 13.
Following a complaint, an FIR was registered at Vishnu Nagar police station in Dombivli under sections 106(1) (causing death by negligence) and 3(5) (a criminal act done in furtherance of common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita on Saturday.
No arrests have been made so far, and further investigations are underway.
