Kollam (Kerala): The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Hospital, Kerala, has announced 29 vacancies for Specialist, Super Specialist, and Senior Resident positions on a contractual basis across multiple departments. The walk-in interview is scheduled for October 9, 2025, at the Conference Hall, ESIC Model and Super Specialty Hospital, Asramam, Kollam, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Vacancy Breakdown Across Departments
According to the notification, there are 2 vacancies for Super Specialists (Endocrinology and Neurology), 10 for Specialists (General Medicine, ICU, Orthopedics, Casualty, General Surgery, Microbiology, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology), and 17 for Senior Residents (Cardiology, Nephrology, Anaesthesiology, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, ICU, General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, and Casualty).
Eligibility and Selection Process
Selection will be based on qualification, experience, and interview performance. Candidates must bring original documents, photocopies, recent photographs, and the prescribed application fee in the form of a Demand Draft at the time of the interview.
Application Fee and Exemptions
The application fee is Rs 250 for General, EWS, and OBC candidates, and Rs 50 for SC/ST candidates. PWD and female applicants are exempted. The fee should be paid via Demand Draft in favour of Employees’ State Insurance Fund – Account No. 1, payable at Kollam.
Important Terms and Conditions
Candidates who have already completed three years of Senior Residency in any central institution are not eligible for Senior Resident posts. Private practice is strictly prohibited, except for Part-time Specialists/Super Specialists. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
Professional Indemnity Policy Requirement
Selected candidates must submit a Professional Indemnity Policy covering professional liability for the contractual period — with a minimum annual cover of Rs 30 lakh for Anesthesiologists, Cardiac/Neuro/Plastic Surgeons; Rs 20 lakh for General Surgeons, Gynecologists, and Obstetricians; and Rs 10 lakh for Physicians, Radiologists, and Pathologists. Proof of the policy must be submitted within seven days of joining.
Contractual Terms and Security Deposit
The appointment will be purely contractual, and services may be terminated with one month’s notice from either side. Selected candidates must sign an agreement on Rs 200 non-judicial stamp paper and deposit Rs 15,000 as a refundable security deposit via Demand Draft in favour of ESIC Account No. 2, payable at Kollam.
