New Delhi – In a landmark recognition of leadership in public health and medical education, Dr. B. Srinivas, Secretary of the National Medical Commission (NMC) and Deputy Director General, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), was conferred the prestigious Dr. B. C. Roy Memorial Award at UDFCON-2025.
The award was presented by Anubhav Garg, Founder of TAB India and a prominent NEET counseling expert, in a ceremony graced by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, who attended as the Chief Guest. Dr. Mandaviya, currently serving as the Minister of Labour and Employment and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, applauded Dr. Srinivas’s enduring contributions to India’s healthcare and education sectors.
Held under the aegis of UDFCON-2025, with support from TAB India, the event brought together senior medical professionals, academic visionaries, and policy stakeholders from across the nation.
“It is an honor to felicitate a visionary like Dr. Srinivas, who has not only streamlined medical education policy but has also been a pillar of trust and transparency in India’s health and medical education ecosystem,” said Anubhav Garg during the ceremony.
Dr. Srinivas has been instrumental in introducing far-reaching reforms through the NMC, particularly in ensuring merit-based seat allocation, transparent counseling mechanisms, and the promotion of student-centric educational governance in the post-NEET era.
The Dr. B. C. Roy Memorial Award—named after India’s legendary physician and the first President of the Medical Council of India—remains among the highest honors recognizing excellence in medicine, healthcare reform, and public health leadership.
This year’s felicitation highlighted not only the legacy of Dr. Srinivas’s transformative work but also called attention to the need for cohesive collaboration between medical educators, institutional heads, and policy architects to elevate India’s medical education system to global benchmarks.
