New Delhi, Oct 2, 2025: An MBBS student at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital in east Delhi has alleged sexual harassment by an assistant professor during an oral examination last week. Delhi Police confirmed that the accused has been arrested.

Incident Reported: The student called the police control room around noon on August 26, reporting that she was molested inside the hospital premises.

During Examination: A senior police officer stated that the student informed authorities she was giving an oral exam when the incident took place.

Accused Identified: The accused has been named Mohd Shaqir Naeem, an assistant professor at the hospital.

Police Action: Following the complaint, the accused was on leave, but was arrested on Tuesday, according to DCP (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam.

Ongoing Investigation: The police are currently investigating the matter, gathering evidence and statements to proceed with legal action.

Safety Measures: Authorities have assured stricter monitoring in hospital examination settings to protect students from harassment and prevent such incidents in the future.
