Coimbatore: A private hospital in Coimbatore has been ordered to pay Rs 10 lakh in compensation to M. Anusuya for negligence during her gallbladder and appendix surgery.
The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission found the hospital guilty of discharging Anusuya prematurely, despite her complaints of high fever, abdominal pain, and breathing difficulties. The commission ruled that the hospital’s negligence caused her severe emotional and financial distress.
The commission also directed the hospital to pay Rs 5,000 towards legal costs.
