
New Delhi – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a staff member of Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital and two officials from the CGST department in separate bribery cases.
RML Hospital Bribery Case
The accused, identified as Surjeet, was arrested for allegedly demanding a ₹10,000 bribe from a complainant to facilitate the admission of his brother’s wife to the hospital. According to the CBI spokesperson, after negotiation, Surjeet agreed to accept ₹8,000, following which the CBI laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting the bribe. The investigation is ongoing.
CGST Bribery Case
In another operation, the CBI arrested Dal Chand (Superintendent, CGST, Nehru Place) and Abhijit Kumar Singh (private individual) for allegedly demanding a bribe of ₹13,000 to process a GST refund of ₹1,33,000. The accused allegedly demanded 8-10% of the refund amount as a bribe. CBI officials caught Abhijit Kumar Singh while accepting the bribe on behalf of Dal Chand.
Both accused have been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
