Nursing Employees Stage Protest Outside Directorate of Ayurveda in Ajmer

Tensions escalated outside the Directorate of Ayurveda in Ajmer on Monday as nursing employees staged a protest against the proposed job chart prepared by the Ayurveda Department. The protesting staff alleged that the draft was prepared without consulting nursing representatives, triggering strong resentment among employees working in hospitals and healthcare centres across the state.

According to protesting employees, the committee responsible for preparing the proposed job chart did not include representatives from the nursing community, despite nurses playing a key role in patient care and healthcare management.

AYUSH Nursing Federation Raises Concerns Over ‘One-Sided’ Structure

Representatives of the State AYUSH Nursing Federation criticised the proposed framework, claiming it was impractical and prepared without understanding the ground-level realities faced by nursing staff.

Federation state president Mr. Chheetar Mal Saini and struggle committee coordinator Mr. Dharmendra Phogat alleged that the committee mainly consisted of members from the medical fraternity and failed to consider the workload, responsibilities and operational challenges faced by nursing personnel.

They stated that the proposed structure was one-sided and lacked proper consultation with employees directly involved in patient care and hospital administration.

Nursing Staff Highlight Role in Healthcare Services

During the protest, nursing employees emphasised that nurses are central to healthcare delivery systems and perform multiple responsibilities, including patient care, emergency duties, record maintenance, ward management and assistance during medical procedures.

The protesters argued that excluding nursing personnel from discussions related to job responsibilities and service structures could negatively impact workplace coordination, administrative planning and operational efficiency at healthcare institutions.

The employees further demanded that the proposed job chart should accurately reflect the actual duties carried out by nurses at hospitals and healthcare centres across Rajasthan.

Officials Assure Review of Concerns After Protest

Following the demonstration, officials reportedly assured nursing representatives that their concerns would be reviewed by the committee before finalising the job chart.

The federation also demanded that nursing representatives be included in future consultations and policy discussions related to service conditions and job responsibilities in the Ayurveda sector.

The protest remained peaceful and was held outside the Ayurveda Directorate premises in Ajmer. Protesters urged the department to adopt a more inclusive and consultative approach while preparing policies that directly affect nursing staff and healthcare services.

Demand for Inclusive and Practical Framework

The nursing employees stressed that balanced participation from all stakeholder groups is necessary to create an effective, practical and widely acceptable framework for nursing services in Ayurveda healthcare institutions.

They maintained that any service-related policy should be prepared after proper dialogue with nursing staff to ensure smooth implementation and better coordination within the healthcare system.
