Dr. Rezaul Hamid Highlights Neurobiological Links Between Migraine and Epilepsy
Bangkok: Psychiatrist and mental health expert Dr. Rezaul Hamid from Barpeta, Assam, represented India at the World Neuroscience & Psychiatry Conference 2025 (WNPC25) held in Bangkok, Thailand, on March 8-9.
Dr. Hamid delivered a keynote presentation titled “Migraine and Epilepsy: Do They Share Common Neurobiology?” His research explored the shared neurological pathways between these conditions, offering insights that could enhance future treatment strategies.
Recognized for Contributions to Global Psychiatry
As the founder of Mindcare Neuro Psychiatry Research Centre, Mandia, Dr. Hamid is a prominent figure in Indian psychiatry. He currently serves as the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Barpeta and has previously co-chaired the College Mental Health Specialty Section of the Indian Psychiatric Society.
Acknowledging his contributions, WNPC25 organizers honored him with a full registration waiver and sponsored accommodation, recognizing his impact on global mental health research.
Participation in ANCIPS 2025 and Advancements in Mental Health
Prior to WNPC25, Dr. Hamid played a key role at ANCIPS 2025, held in Hyderabad in January. He chaired two scientific sessions, presented research papers on “Neurobiology of Emotion” and “Mental Health of Psychiatrists,” and conducted a hands-on workshop on Neurostimulation in Psychiatric Practice alongside leading experts.
His expertise extends beyond conferences. Through his Mindcare Institute of Mental Health & Allied Sciences, Dr. Hamid is pioneering digital mental health solutions and Virtual Reality Therapy. He is also developing a 100-bed super-specialty mental health hospital in Barpeta, Assam, strengthening India’s role in global psychiatric advancements.
