Surat, Gujarat: Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Shri Babulal Roopchand Shah Mahavir Cancer Hospital and Shri Phoolchandbhai Jaikishandas Vakharia Sanatorium in Surat.
Modern Facilities for Cancer Treatment
The ₹250-crore hospital features a 110-bed facility, including state-of-the-art treatment options such as chemotherapy units, radiation therapy, bone marrow transplants, and hi-tech operation theatres. The hospital aims to make Surat self-sufficient in cancer treatment, providing affordable care to low-income patients through Maa and Ayushman cards.

Praising Surat’s cleanliness and growth, Amit Shah emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare. He also highlighted the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which has provided free treatment worth up to ₹5 lakh to millions of poor families across India.
