Physiotherapist Accused of Administering Sedatives, Taking Explicit Photos, and Extorting ₹4 Lakh
Ahmedabad: A physiotherapist in Narol has been arrested for allegedly blackmailing and sexually assaulting a 35-year-old female patient after rendering her unconscious with an injection. The accused, Dr. Nilesh Kumar Nayak, reportedly took explicit photos and videos of the woman, threatened to leak them online, and extorted ₹4 lakh along with her jewellery. The survivor has now filed a complaint at Maninagar police station, leading to an ongoing investigation.
Sedation and Assault at the Clinic
The victim, a resident of Narol, was undergoing regular physiotherapy sessions at Dr. Nayak’s clinic due to health issues, including diabetes and skin conditions. Over time, she developed a level of trust with the doctor.
During a session in May last year, the woman felt dizzy, prompting Dr. Nayak to administer an intravenous (IV) drip, claiming it would help her recover. However, the injection allegedly contained a sedative, which rendered her unconscious.
Taking advantage of her state, Dr. Nayak allegedly stripped her and captured explicit photos and videos without her consent.
Blackmail, Extortion, and Repeated Abuse
When the victim regained consciousness, Dr. Nayak blackmailed her, threatening to leak the footage online unless she paid him money. Fearing social humiliation, she handed over ₹4 lakh and her jewellery to the accused.
The harassment did not stop at extortion. Using the threat of viral exposure, Dr. Nayak allegedly forced the woman to accompany him to a hotel in Maninagar, where he sexually assaulted her multiple times.
Survivor Files Complaint, Doctor Arrested
Unable to bear the continuous harassment, the woman finally confided in her husband, who supported her in filing a police complaint at Maninagar police station.
Maninagar Police Inspector D. P. Unadkat confirmed the arrest:
“As soon as we were informed, we launched an investigation. The accused, Dr. Nayak, was arrested from his residence. Right now, interrogation is ongoing, and we are investigating whether there are other victims involved.”
Investigation Underway
Authorities are currently examining phone records and surveillance footage to validate the victim’s claims. Given that the incident occurred approximately six months ago, the police are also investigating whether Dr. Nayak has targeted other women in a similar manner.
The case has sparked outrage, with calls for strict action against medical professionals who exploit their patients. Further details are expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
