State-of-the-Art Facility for ESI Beneficiaries
The ESIC Medical College and Hospital, KK Nagar, Chennai, has launched its new Cath Lab services, marking a major milestone in enhancing cardiac diagnostic and interventional care for ESI beneficiaries in the region.
Inauguration by ESIC Leadership
The facility was inaugurated by ESIC Director General Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, in the presence of Finance Commissioner Ms. T.L. Yaden and senior medical commissioners Dr. Deepika Govil, Dr. Kamlesh Harish, Dr. Ashit Mullick, and Dr. Rachita Biswas.
Investment and ‘Make in India’ Push
Set up at a cost of ₹4.03 crore under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the Cath Lab comes with a three-year warranty and seven years of comprehensive maintenance coverage. Immediately after inauguration, two successful Coronary Angiography (CAG) procedures were performed, underscoring its readiness.
Strengthening Hospital Capabilities
The facility is expected to reduce reliance on external referrals for advanced cardiac procedures, ensuring timely treatment for insured persons and their families. A presentation on hospital services by Dean Dr. Kalidas Dattatraya Chavan and a live demonstration of the Cath Lab were part of the ceremony.
